A Safer Way to Open Access Covers
Opening an access cover is routine work — but routine doesn't mean low-risk. Covers can seat tightly from traffic impact, corrosion, debris, or seasonal freeze-thaw, and manual handling often forces crews to bend, twist, pry, or jerk a cover loose. Those motions strain the back, shoulders, wrists, and knees, and when a cover finally breaks free, it can shift suddenly — creating pinch points and putting workers close to an open hole on uneven, wet, or poorly lit ground.
