Who we are
Rock Safety LLC manufactures practical safety equipment for municipalities, contractors, and critical-infrastructure teams. The work applies across water, sewer, gas, electrical, refinery, municipal, and contractor environments where heavy covers and grates are part of the route.
Our focus is specific: help the operator approach, engage, lift, lower, and displace a cover from a clearer position. The equipment is designed around real vehicles and real work zones, not a showroom display.
How it started
The RS-LIFTER was developed 20 years ago as an automated solution for safer manhole-cover and storm-grate removal. The system combines hydraulic movement with an electro-magnet rated at 17 amps and up to 600 pounds of lifting capacity.
It can mount to the front or rear of many vehicles using bolt-on or hitch configurations. Installation is designed to take less than an hour and connect directly to the vehicle battery.
How we work
Every configuration starts with the vehicle, the access point, and the crew’s preferred operating position. Remote control lets the operator work from inside the vehicle or from outside with a clear view. Camera and monitor options support positioning from the cab.
Swing-arm and grate-attachment options extend the workflow beyond lifting. A cover can be moved away from the opening and returned to the same rotational position without requiring the vehicle to move.
